IMPORTANT!!!! NEWS ABOUT THE PALM TREE KILLING LONG NOSE BEETLE
FOR MORE INFORMATION ABOUT THIS URGENT MATTER  PLEASE CONTACT MARGARET QUINN:.TE;/ 766 4094EMAIL mquinn44@gmail.com
Palm trees all over Ajijic are being killed by the Long Nose Beetle, also known as the Weevil.  The beetle eats the new growth at the top of the tree.  Then the tree dies.  The tree cannot be saved once attacked.  The beetle then flies to the next closest palm.
IMPORTANT  about 2 inches long, very black, a very long nose, wings under very HARD shell.
If you see this beetle in your yard, first kill the beetle with a hammer or other heavy object. Then you need to have the TOP of you palm tree(s) sprayed immediately in hopes that the beetle has not started to attack your palm tree(s).  Cost to spray should be 150p per tree.  Trees need to be sprayed every 3 months.
The beetle is sitting on stump of a large Palm that had to cut down.
